If you are pregnant, select your pre-pregnancy size as our clothing and fabric are designed to adapt to your changing shape. All of the maternity clothing at Bella Mama is Transition Wear. This clothing is specially designed to suit your changing body shape as you transition through pregnancy and back again. Cleverly designed without the traditional “bump”, A-line shape and extra fabric of conventional maternity clothes, this clothing fits and flatters perfectly. This versatility allows you to wear the clothing for at least a year, as your body changes through pregnancy and gradually moves back towards your pre-pregnancy shape.
Nursing clothing is cut with a little more room in the chest and tummy area to account for a post-natal figure. Post-natally, your current chest measurement will give you a good indication of your size, in most cases your pre-pregnancy size will still be the one which fits you best! Please refer to our sizing guides for each item for a perfect fit as sizes do vary slightly between different brands and styles. If in doubt please feel free to contact us for more individual advice.

At Bella Mama we offer a selection of nursing bras styles from a range of fabulous designers. The designers we stock have been picked for providing a wonderful blend of comfort, style and high quality bras for pregnant and nursing mamas. We aim to make your transition from mama-to-be to breastfeeding mama as easy as possible.
During pregnancy and nursing, there are several different types of bras available. With all types of bras, it’s important to ensure that you get a well fitting bra to support breast tissue, ensure healthy functioning of the lymphatic system in the breast and ensure that milk supply is not compromised.
When buying a bra during pregnancy, ensure that it will fit you on the tightest hook to allow for rib cage expansion and growth. When buying a nursing bras, wait until around the 36th week of your pregnancy and ensure that the bra will fit on the loosest hook to allow for the decrease in your ribcage post-natally. Allowing a little extra room in the cup size of your nursing bra will give your breasts room to expand as your milk comes in, as well as giving room for nursing pads.
The best bras on the market will show the expertise of the designers who really understand the needs of new mamas and the anatomy of the breast during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The better designers will not only provide support, but also comfort, flexibility, convenience and style. They’re also prettier, more feminine, and they can make an astonishing difference in the appearance, attitude and outlook of the new mama!

Maternity and Transition bras This type of bra is made from soft, stretchy fabric and will fit your changing shape as you transition through maternity to breastfeeding. There are usually several hooks to allow for adjustment as your ribcage expands, and the soft fabric accommodates a changing cup size. Nursing access is via drop down cup. |

Soft Cup Nursing Bras Non-wired nursing bras are recommended by many breastfeeding advisors, and are a great choice when establishing breastfeeding in the first months after your baby is born. These bras provide support for your breasts, and great comfort due to the soft fabrics which feel gorgeous against the skin. Nursing access is via drop down cup. |

Sleep Bras Sleep bras are super-soft, lighter weight bras which provide support for your breasts whilst you are sleeping or napping. Many women find these invaluable to support tender breasts whilst establishing breastfeeding, as well as being able to wear nursing pads in them at night-time. Nursing access is usually by pulling aside the stretchy fabric of the bra. |

Nursing tanks Nursing tanks are soft, stretchy tanks which feature a built-in nursing bra that offers superior breast support and tummy coverage for discretion. These are brilliant to wear during the first few weeks as your milk comes in and breastfeeding is established, as they are very soft and comfortable on full, aching breasts. These are perfect for layering during the day, or wearing as a pyjama top at night. Nursing access is via a drop down cup, which can be opened using one hand. |
